Bathing is an activity that is a must for keeping the body clean and free from bacterial infection. But some points to be kept in mind while having a bath so that we protect our body from the serious consequences in the future.

We had no idea that the way we’ve been showering may actually be doing us more harm than good. Let’s have a look at some of the things which we should not do while having a bath.

#1. Do Not Scrub Too Much:

Most of us have a belief that if we scrub too much on the face would help in getting fairer soon, but this is an illusion. Scrubbing too much leads to the removal of the top layer of the skin and this tends to skin infection as well.

#2. Use of Deodorants or Anti-Bacterial Soaps:

Many prefer to use a deodorant after the bath which should be avoided. The strong aroma and ingredients of the deodorants extract moisture out of your skin which leads to itching, flakiness, and dry skin.

#3. Many Avoid Conditioner After Shampoo:

Applying conditioner after shampoo prevents the hair from getting dry and increases the hair length. It also makes your hair retain the hair protein. Unfortunately very fewer people have a habit of using conditioners after the shampoo. From now on try to use conditioners after the shampoo.

#4. Excessive Use of Soap:

Soap absorb the dirt and oil present on the body and water washes it away. But too much of anything is dangerous. Minimize soaping to only the oily parts of the body and also those parts where the odor is obvious.

#5. Taking Long Showers:

Mostly people do take a long shower to relax yet it is advised to take a short shower because long shower can extract the moisture and leave skin dry. This can leave your skin feeling dry and itchy.

#6. Leaving Body Scrubber After Use:

We leave the body scrubber unhandled in the washroom when you are done with it. When such a scrubber is used again, it causes an itching sensation in the body. Instead, make sure to wash the body scrubber thoroughly and ring it dry. Store it in a dry place that won’t encourage bacteria as much as your shower wall will.

#7. Wrapping Your Long Hair In A Towel:

Wrapping your hair in a towel burrito won’t actually leave you bald, but it might be doing severe damage to your hair. Wrapping your hair tightly with a towel causes the most stress and damage to your hair.

#8. Do Not Wax or Shave Before Bath:

Waxing or shaving before a bath increases the size of the pores on the skin. This leads to a dry and dull skin.

#9. Using Towel For Too Long:

Using towel too long after the bath is also a bad habit. This makes the skin dry and may also lead to excess hair fall.

#10. Waiting For Too Long After Applying a Moisturizer:

Do not wait for longer than three minutes after applying a moisturizer because if the skin gets dry and cracks, bacterias may always find their way.

#11. Bathing Immediately After Exercise:

Many people have the habit of bathing immediately after exercise. Exercising makes the body warm and if we bath soon after we exert, we may suffer from cold, cough and fever very often. Prefer a bath after at least Half an Hour of exercising.
